Suburbs with “beach” in their name can drop in popularity in winter, but only if the beach is the only asset the suburb has. Here’s some assets that make Bonbeach a year around destination.
TRAX, 533 Nepean Hwy, Bonbeach
This is just one of those great spots that have it all. Regular live music, special deals and great food. Friday nights go off with great bands, $10 cocktails on a Saturday and kids eat free on Sunday’s, making TRAX the perfect spot for every member of the family. Customer service at the TRAX is always excellent – Emily is especially wonderful & always has a friendly smile. Opening hours at the TRAX make it a perfect spot to stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee and snack. If you do drop in, try the salt ‘n’ pepper calamari – you won’t be sorry!
The Little French Deli, 524 Nepean Highway Bonbeach
This is a cosy little café with a lovely back courtyard. Their website has a gallery of images that will make your mouth water, but as it says: the best way to enjoy this place is to book a table and try it yourself. The owner, Penny, makes every visitor welcome and the authentic French fare keeps them coming back. If you after croissants for breakfast, a grazing plate for lunch and escargot for dinner, The Little French Deli is the place you want to go. For the sweet tooth, there is a range of desserts that will delight (my personal favourite is the Tarte citron meringuée, which always sounds better than lemon tart – but anyway you say it, it is delicious).
Bonbeach Pizza Fish & Chips, 523 Nepean Hwy, Bonbeach
Gotta love a café that does what it says in its name. The pizza, fish and chips here are just great, but so is the pasta and other mains. The pizza range is fantastic – everything from Nutella to a gourmet Tandoori chicken – and you can half and half or order a combination pasta in pizza should that take your fancy. The whole menu is also available for delivery just in case you’re in the middle of a Netflix binge.
