Niddrie’s proximity to the CDB makes it an attractive place to live or invest, but it also boasts some excellent eateries. Here’s a few of our favourites.
Divine Indian Restaurant, 3/386 Keilor Road, Niddrie
You will find some of the best Indian food in Melbourne at Divine, as this restaurant certainly lives up to its name. The décor is modern is style and with parking at the rear, busy Keilor Road is not an issue. All the well-known Indian are on the menu, and the sauces are delicious (make sure you order enough rice to enjoy finishing them off). The menu also provides excellent vegetarian options, with a cauliflower Pakora that will delight everyone, and a good range of main dishes. Service here is always friendly and efficient and if the servings are too big, you can always get them to pack it up for the next day’s lunch.
Lazat Malaysian, 328A Keilor Rd, Niddrie
One of the best things about modern Melbourne is that we have finally discovered there is much more to Asian cuisine than lemon chicken and fried rice. Lazat’s is a great example of the diversity we can now enjoy, which provides authentic Malaysian food with great service. The food here always tastes fresh, and the menu provides a range of dishes to please the fussiest of eaters. Seafood here is particularly good; the salt and pepper calamari is one of our regular ‘go-to’s’. The curry sauces are amazing whether you eat them with beef, chicken or vegetables and all go well when soaked up with the roti bread.
Nobel Greek Tavern, 328 Keilor Rd, Niddrie
The Greek connection to Melbourne is rich and colourful, and the Noble Greek Tavern carries on the tradition of serving classic Greek dishes to Melburnians. Well established in the area, Nobel is popular with locals and attracts visitors from many other suburbs as well. The quality of the food is just one of the reasons – Alex and Maria provide excellent service to match. All your favourite Greek dishes are featured and set menus provide value and a way to enjoy the best of the menu.
